Our Vicar
The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church is an Eastern Catholic Church in full communion with the Universal Catholic Church. It is one of the Major Archiepiscopal Churches of the Catholic Church and is headed by Major Archbishop His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos.
The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church traces its origins to the mission of St. Thomas the Apostle in the 1st century. The Church follows the West Syriac Rite and celebrates the Divine Liturgy of St. James. The Syro-Malankara Catholic Church was formally established on 20 September 1930 through the reunion movement led by Servant of God Archbishop Geevarghese Mar Ivanios.
